Paintings
On September 1st, 2007, I started a project called ‘The Daily Paintings’. My intention was to create a painting from start to finish in a day, and put it up for sale online. I would do this on days I wasn’t working on any professional painting/art projects and the goal was to eventually just be painting. The process is as follows; Meditate, paint whatever is currently on my mind, write a blog about the painting process and my thoughts, put up the painting on line for sale and post photographs of it on my web page. I soon realized from the feedback I was receiving this process was much more than just paintings. Friends and family members were beginning to forward my Daily Painting emails off to their email lists. Strangers where finding me online in various places and also bidding on my pieces of art. The best part of all was when people started to tell me they began their own ‘Daily Paintings’, but in the form of Daily Writings, Daily Sculptures, Daily Exercise, Daily Music, Daily Compliments, Daily Gratitude, Daily Smiles… their lists go on and on. I couldn’t believe it. It was the ultimate form of ‘Pay It Forward’ that I ever experienced!
The Daily Paintings continue to pour out of me and now I have two other artist friends who are also starting their own Daily Paintings. I still receive emails from people telling me what their ‘Daily Painting’ process is. I think I enjoy these messages just as much as I do painting the Daily Paintings.
